Mountain Art Quilters is a group of fifty fabric artists centered in the Sierra Foothills in Northern California. Members meet monthly in Nevada City to share their expertise, inspirations and ideas in producing beautiful works of art utilizing the latest in sewing, quilting, and embellishing techniques. July brought another month of challenge reveals. The summer heat seems to have affected everyone; there were not a lot of entries, but the ones that did show up were certainly hot! Judge for yourself.

Our May meeting showcased the works and surface design techniques of three of our members: Linda Waddle, Ann Sanderson, and Michelle Peerson. During Show and Tell, Joan Dyer shared a piece entitled, "Layers and Textures," Linda Siska shared her Zentangle inspired quilt, "It's Not Just Black and White," and Ardy Tobin asked for advice on her two 'grand dog' quilts in progress. Our newest member, Jan Petra, shared some of the quilts she has made over the years.
